Qualitative Coder or Annotator

Position

Are you interested in what makes good therapy? Learn to systematically identify elements of good therapy using evidence-based qualitative coding schemes. The Qualitative Coder position is for someone with an interest in psychotherapy and human interactions.

Job Type + Schedule

Part-time staff position for anywhere between 5 and 19.5 hours per week. Highly flexible schedule outside of regular standing weekly or bi-weekly 1-hour coding team meetings.

Supervision

This position is available under the supervision of Brian Pace, PhD, Director of Clinical AI. All Lyssn employees may interact with qualitative coders at different time points via the online company messaging platform. This position will have access to observing and participating in research and product development for coding. An IP agreement will be required in this position.

Essential Functions

  • Attend training online to learn a specific qualitative psychological coding system
  • Work to achieve and maintain reliability with a current coder team
  • Code a specific number of sessions per week
  • Attend coding team meetings online with team 2-4 times per month
  • Ask questions, observe commentary, and communicate regularly with human coding team and the rest of the company via online company messaging platform

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to telecommute (e.g., internet and computer set-up).
  • Comfortable navigating a variety of technologies and software programs with little direction

Preferred

  • Demonstrated history of online telecommuting
  • Experience with motivational interviewing coding or another qualitative clinical coding system in research or clinical practice

Ideal candidates will have a track record of being a proactive, reliable person that balances resolving problems on their own and consulting with supervisors. Consistency, reliability, and follow-through are important.

Salary

Begin at $20 an hour with pay increases after training and annually
