New: Safety Assessment for Crisis Counseling Training Now Available

Crisis conversations often unfold in fast-moving, high-pressure moments where listening closely, responding clearly, and staying present are essential.

Lyssn’s Suicide Prevention Fundamentals training library now includes a new addition: Safety Assessment for Crisis Counseling Training, an audio-only practice experience designed for crisis call takers on the front lines of these conversations.

With expert content created and led by Dr. David Jobes and Dr. Samantha Chalker, this new training combines our existing Suicide Prevention Fundamentals expert-led video instruction with new practical, skills-based practice callers to better reflecting the reality of crisis response work. These scenarios help call takers practice core suicide prevention skills in active crisis moments. Rather than focusing on reflective conversations about past suicidal thoughts, the audio-only practice centers on live interactions where quick judgment, empathy, and clear communication matter most.

Here is a brief preview of Mark, one of our 4 new audio-only practice callers added to our Learn & Practice library.

Please note: The following audio example contains sensitive content related to suicidal thoughts.
