Motivational Interviewing (MI) is already a core part of Lyssn’s Learn & Practice library, helping teams build practical, evidence-based communication skills.
We know that those skills are just as important in supervision as they are in direct client work, which is why Motivational Interviewing for HHS Supervisors is now available in a brief module, designed specifically for supervisors working in Health and Human Services settings.
How this update supports HHS supervisors
Supervisors play a key role in reinforcing MI through coaching, modeling, and day-to-day conversations with staff. This addition is designed to help supervisors build confidence using MI in a supervisory context and strengthen implementation across their teams.
Through four skill practice opportunities featuring one new vignette, Jordan, supervisors will work through realistic conversations that reflect day-to-day challenges in child welfare settings.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
-
- Build knowledge for supporting MI implementation in a child welfare setting
- Practice using MI skills in a supervisory context
- Model MI more effectively in conversations with staff
- Use open questions and reflections to skillfully address everyday challenges your staff face
- Better understand the value of reinforcing MI through everyday interactions
This addition helps extend MI into supervision, giving teams stronger support for long-term implementation.
